We be goblins, all caged up.
Comfy home for goblin pup!
Chew the bars, taste the rage,
Then squirm out of baby cage.
Prove our worth, Yeah,
that’s the plan—
All to join Licktoad goblin clan!

Having survived to be the strongest in your cage, four prospective members of the Licktoad tribe must now undergo their tribe's rituals to prove their worth. Four goblins, having grown up in cages closest to one another, follow their natural goblin instincts to group up in order to maximize their chances for survival to the next day. In a series of challenges, the goblins had to wrangle "giant" spiders, harm themselves for the amusement of the tribe, hurl insults while gurgling hot rocks, and then dig out worms from mud pie. Having survived and passing enough tests to be allowed to join, they were then sent to Tadpole Bog to capture their lucky toads.

Stumbling upon some Seven Tooth goblins far from their home of Sandpoint Beach, the PCs murdered them and took their equipment, giving them a major advantage against the dangers of the Brinestump Swamp. Each goblin managed to capture a worthy toad, and they set out for Darkfear Cave, to present their toad to the Darkfear Spirit.

While traveling, the goblins were ambushed by Kettlehead, a fellow cagemate and very powerful goblin, and two of his lackeys, who, for reasons unknown, were attempting to steal the PC's toads. Dispatching the goblin trio rather easily, they pressed forward until they reached Darkfear Cave.

Presenting their named toads, and singing their goblin songs, the Darkfear Spirit seemed pleased...at least until four green eyes peered out from the cave darkness and let out a terrible hiss...

Two "grabby cats" lunge out, their whiskered faces twisted into snarls. Perhaps allowing the door to the cabin wasn't the best idea, for the viscous little beasts may have just ran out of the cave. But since you're shut in with them, it's a fight to the death!

The "grabby-cat" lashes out, biting at Tur'tl, who stumbles backwards in surprise, dropping his toad. The savage beasts knicks Turt'tl's shell armor before rearing back and hissing again.
Your skald falls back against the cave wall, stricken with shock. Reaching for his boom-boom drum, he begins to pound out a sick beat and shouts,
"Goblins be quick or Goblins be dead,
Smash this grabby-cat in da' head!
Swing him by his stupid furry tail,
Let 'em break some teeth, on Tur'tl's shell!"
The second "grabby-cat" pounces, landing on Skullcrush's well-armored head, clawing and tearing, the filthy animal finds only smooth copper, and falls off onto his back. Skullcrush draws a javelin and leaps into the air, bringing it down to try and pin the monster to the cave floor. Too quick and panicked, the racoon darts out of the weapon's target, speeding away...right into Gnar's thick goblin leg. "Grabby-Cat like to bite? Well, Gnar like to bite too!" He shouts maniacally, as he falls onto the "grabby-cat"'s head with an audible crunch noise followed by a high-pitched squeal as the "grabby-cat" lashes out with his meager claws to pull himself out of Gnar's noxious bite.
Tur'tl, now prepared, draws his horsechopper and squares off against his ring-tailed enemy, Nudbudder LongBalls begins to tap out a slower, steadier rhythm, helping to build excitement;
"Round and Round, Circle and Circle
Mean ol Grabby Cat and Hard Shell Tur'tl
One will cry and bleed
whoever die, be the one we eat!"
The "grabby-cat"'s back legs build with tension, and Tur'tl hunches low, staying as low to the ground as he can. The animal acts, leaping high into the air, his teeth and claws aimed for his enemies unprotected face, Tur'tl in an amazing display of acrobatics, does a corkscrew dive beneath the leaping beast, and thrusts the horsechopper into the creatures neck as it dives forward, causing it to rip itself open on the blade, from throat to butthole. The only sound heard is the wet plopping noises of it's guts falling onto Tur'tl. Pushing the corpse off of him, he stands triumphant, banging the bottom of his horsechopper against the cave's wooden floor. Gnar makes greedy noises as he gnaws on the "grabby-cat"'s decapitated head, chewing off the fur. Skullcrush pokes the headless body cautiously with a javelin - sometimes animals keep fighting long after they've had their heads pulled off, a fact that goblins frequently like to exploit when they come across chickens, and a wild, thrashing "grabby-cat" body could be quite dangerous.
"Goblins bite and punch and stab,
We still alive, so cant be too bad!
Now we go back to tribe and say we be licktoads true!
Any goblin doubt us we beat them and run them through!"
Nudder finishes his beat with a giant smile on his face.
